Highland Park 12 Year Old Viking Honour is the flagship expression from Highland Park Distillery, founded in 1798 in the Orkney archipelago of northern Scotland, one of the northernmost whisky-producing regions in the world. Highland Park remains one of the few distilleries still hand-turning and malting its own barley, dried over locally harvested peat from Hobbister Moor just seven miles away, where floral heather imparts the distillery's signature gentle smoke character. This expression matures in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, bridging the smoky intensity of Islay with the sherried sweetness of Speyside.
Bottled at 43% ABV, the nose brings heather honey, dried fruit, and a gentle, floral peat smoke, layered with orange peel, marzipan, and warming spice. The palate delivers honey, heather, and subtle peat smoke woven through dried fruit, cinnamon, and gentle oak, finishing medium to long with lingering honey, soft smoke, and spice.
