About This Bottle
Ardbeg 10 Year Old is the flagship expression from Ardbeg Distillery, founded in 1815 on the remote Scottish island of Islay and widely regarded as the peatiest, smokiest single malt in the world. Crafted using some of the most heavily peated malted barley available (55-65 PPM) and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, this whisky matures a minimum of 10 years exclusively in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, then bottled non-chill filtered to preserve maximum flavor, body, and depth.
Specs

- Peat Level: 55-65 PPM
- Aging: 10 years, ex-bourbon American oak, non-chill filtered
- ABV: 46% (92 Proof)
- Size: 750ml
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Intense peat smoke, coastal sea spray, zesty lemon and lime, waxy dark chocolate, menthol, and black pepper
- Palate: Bold smokiness with warm creamy cappuccino, toasted marshmallow, espresso, and licorice root
- Finish: Long and smoky, with tarry espresso, aniseed, toasted almonds, and traces of soft barley and fresh pear
Despite its intense peat, Ardbeg 10 never lets the smoke overpower the whisky's natural malt sweetness, delivering a remarkably balanced dram that's frequently ranked among the top peated whiskies in the world, best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to unlock its complex layers.
