About This Bottle
The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old is the whisky that helped pioneer modern cask finishing, one of the first releases where Malt Master David Stewart experimented with transferring long-matured single malt into a second cask type for a final infusion of flavor. This expression spends the majority of its 12 years maturing in traditional American oak ex-bourbon casks before being moved to European oak Oloroso sherry casks for a final 9 months, a process that gives DoubleWood its name and signature character.
Bottled at 43% ABV, the nose brings pronounced floral notes of heather and white flowers, layered with dried apricot, nectarine, honey, wood spice, and vanilla, with just a whisper of peat smoke. The palate is creamy with caramel, spiced vanilla custard, and fresh baked brioche, while the Oloroso sherry finish contributes dried stone fruit, prune, almond, and marzipan. The finish is silky and medium to long, closing on honeyed caramel and vanilla against a backdrop of dried fruit.
Distilled at Balvenie's Speyside estate, one of only six distilleries in Scotland still operating its own malting floor, this well-balanced expression has become the quintessential entry point into Balvenie's range, making it a strong pick for both newcomers to single malt and longtime Speyside fans.

When will this ship?
Orders placed Monday through Thursday are processed and ship within 3–5 business days. Orders placed Friday through Sunday are processed the following Monday. We ship from Coronado, CA via UPS, and tracking is emailed as soon as your order leaves.
Which states do you ship to?

Do I have to sign for delivery?
Yes. An adult 21 or older with valid government-issued ID must be present to sign. UPS will not leave alcohol unattended.
What happens if I miss the delivery?
UPS attempts delivery up to three times. If all three attempts fail, the package is returned to us and re-shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.
How is the bottle packed?
Wrapped, braced, and boxed in molded inserts built for glass — the same packing whether it is a $35 bottle or a $2,000 one.
Can I return it?
All sales are final. Alcohol is a consumable product, so we cannot accept returns based on taste preference. If a bottle arrives broken or we ship the wrong item, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we will replace or refund it at no cost.
What if my order is lost or damaged in transit?
Contact us within 48 hours at support@estatesliquor.com with your order number and photos. Adding shipping protection at checkout covers loss, damage, and theft, and lets us resolve it immediately rather than waiting on a UPS claim.
Can I cancel an order?
Email support@estatesliquor.com immediately and we will try to stop it before it ships. If the order has already been processed, a 10% restocking fee applies.
