Bruichladdich Octomore Edition 14.3 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml
Bruichladdich Octomore Edition 14.3 is the most extreme expression in the 14th annual Octomore series, crafted exclusively from Concerto barley grown on Octomore Farm just two miles from the distillery. Malted to an extraordinary 214.2 PPM, the highest peat level in the series, this 100% Islay-grown barley expression matured for 5 years in a split combination of first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks, capturing the terroir of the surrounding farmland alongside Bruichladdich's push toward the outer limits of peated whisky.
Bottled at cask strength 61.4% ABV with no chill filtration or added color, the nose brings a radiant light golden amber color with campfire smoke, strawberry, vanilla, maple syrup, saline, and caramel. The palate delivers punchy notes of smoked spice, cotton candy, marzipan, chocolate brownie, sea salt caramel, and black pepper, finishing long and powerful with hot peat and lingering sweetness.
Despite carrying nearly double the PPM of its 14.2 sibling, the whisky remains surprisingly balanced rather than simply louder, making this a benchmark release for peat enthusiasts and a must-have for collectors chasing the most heavily peated single malt in the world.
