Colonel E.H. Taylor Cured Oak Bourbon 2026 Release 750ml
Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Cured Oak returns in 2026 after being absent from the E.H. Taylor lineup for more than a decade, aged inside oak barrels built from white oak staves air-dried for 13 months, more than double the standard six month curing time. The extended curing process draws deeper tannin and terpene development out of the wood before the bourbon ever enters the barrel, giving this release a character shaped by the barrel itself rather than by age alone. Barrels were aged inside Warehouse C, built by Colonel Taylor in 1885 as a prime aging location. Originally released in 2015 with a 17 year age statement, this 2026 edition steps down to a 10 year age statement, a change Buffalo Trace states was intentional to highlight the extra-seasoned barrels at their most balanced point.
Bottled at 100 proof as a Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, expect toasted oak, caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, leather, baking spice, and a touch of tobacco on the nose, with a rich, layered palate carrying the same notes through to a long, dry, oak driven finish.
A rare, limited offering rather than an annual release, this bottle is a deep cut for serious E.H. Taylor collectors and bourbon enthusiasts chasing one of the most coveted names in the lineup.
