Highland Park Cask Strength Single Malt Batch #4 750ml
Highland Park Cask Strength Batch #4 is the fourth release in Highland Park's Cask Strength range, first launched in 2020 as a permanent part of the distillery's core lineup. Crafted by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion, this batch was matured predominantly in first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks alongside first-fill ex-bourbon casks, first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak, and first-fill ex-port hogsheads, marking the first time port casks have been introduced into the Cask Strength series, along with a small quantity of refill casks.
Bottled at a formidable 64.3% ABV (128.6 proof) with no chill filtration or added color, the nose brings toasted coconut, crushed lemons, cedarwood, a hint of Turkish delight, and aromatic peat smoke. The palate delivers zesty pink grapefruit, fragrant rose water, toasted oak, and heather-rich peat, finishing long with exotic sun-baked spices, licorice, and floral peat smoke.
Distilled at Highland Park's Orkney distillery, one of only a handful still operating a traditional malting floor, this release is remarkably smooth and drinkable despite its high proof, making it a standout for fans of full-strength single malt and Highland Park collectors chasing each new batch in the series.
