About This Bottle
Midleton Very Rare Dair Ghaelach Bluebell Forest Tree No. 6 is the second chapter in Midleton's Virgin Irish Oak Collection, built around six roughly 130 year old oak trees from the Bluebell Forest on the Castle Blunden Estate near Kilkenny. The wood was made into staves that air-dried for 15 months, then coopered into 29 lightly toasted hogsheads. Single pot still whiskeys aged 12 to 23 years, matured mainly in American ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in these virgin Irish oak casks for around 18 to 19 months. Every bottle traces back to one of the six trees, and this one comes from Tree No. 6.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Bluebell Forest Tree No. 6 taste like?
Pine, cedar, and honey on the nose, with rich pot still spice, butterscotch, and citrus tartness on the palate, finishing with long, lingering spice.
Why does the tree number matter?
Each bottle in the Bluebell Forest release comes from one of six individual trees, and the subtle differences in the oak give each numbered bottle its own character.
How is this different from the Knockrath Forest and Kylebeg Wood releases?
All three are part of the Dair Ghaelach series, but each draws its virgin Irish oak from a different forest and estate. Bluebell Forest is the second release in the series.
