About This Bottle
Nikka Coffey Malt is a rare Japanese whisky distilled from 100% malted barley through a Coffey still, a continuous column still design unusual for malt whisky, which is traditionally produced in small-batch copper pot stills. Produced at Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery using Coffey stills imported from Scotland in 1963, this unusual pairing of malted barley with continuous distillation creates a whisky with characteristics unlike typical pot-still single malts.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Nikka Coffey Malt taste like?
Rich spice and citrus on the nose, with cinnamon, clove, and toasted pastry on the palate, finishing with oak, tobacco, and mild chocolate.
What makes Coffey Malt unusual?
It's 100% malted barley distilled in a continuous Coffey still rather than the traditional copper pot stills used for most malt whisky.
How is this different from Nikka Coffey Grain?
Coffey Malt uses 100% malted barley, while Coffey Grain is made predominantly from corn, giving Coffey Malt a richer, more Irish-pot-still-like character versus Coffey Grain's bourbon-like sweetness.
