About This Bottle
Rabbit Hole Founder's Collection Mizunara is a rare cask strength release from Louisville's Rabbit Hole Distillery, built from a handful of 15 year old Kentucky straight bourbon barrels that founder Kaveh Zamanian selected from his personal collection of rare whiskey. Zamanian sourced casks from a small family-owned cooperage in Japan and finished the bourbon in them for about a year. They are made from Mizunara, Japan's indigenous oak, which grows on the northern island of Hokkaido. The name comes from "mizu" (water) and "nara" (oak), and the wood is among the most elusive and sought-after in whiskey.

- Finish: Long and buttery, with cinnamon, nutmeg, dark chocolate, toasted oak, mint, and a lingering Mizunara incense note
Mizunara is known for delicate sandalwood and incense character, and here it sits alongside 15 years of classic bourbon depth without dominating it. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open up the layers.
