About This Bottle

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut is the signature champagne of the house, founded in 1772 in Reims, France. It is built around four qualities that define the Veuve Clicquot style: freshness, strength, aromatic richness, and silkiness. Pinot Noir leads the blend and gives it the structure Veuve Clicquot is known for. Chardonnay adds elegance and finesse, and a touch of Meunier rounds it out. Grapes come from as many as 50 to 60 different crus. The blend includes up to 45% reserve wines drawn from one of the largest reserve collections in Champagne, about 400 wines aged up to 30 years, which keeps the style consistent year after year.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: White and yellow fruit like pear, apple, and peach, with mandarin, grapefruit, and brioche
  • Palate: Pear, peach, and pastry, with a touch of dried fruit from aging on lees
  • Finish: Fresh and balanced, with lingering fruit and almond

Madame Clicquot, who took over the house in 1805, is credited with inventing the riddling table, a technique still used across Champagne to produce clear, brilliant wine. Yellow Label is versatile enough to serve as an aperitif or with a meal. It pairs especially well with seafood, salmon, fish tartare, and Parmesan.
